Sugar Creek Township board of Trustees will place a fire levy on the May 2, 2023 ballot for the benefit of the Southern Sugar Creek Township fire district.  This 2 mil levy will commence in 2024 for 3 years and will be used to help fund expenses with our fire and EMS provider, Kidron Volunteer Fire Dept. Sugar Creek Township is enrolled in an Electric Aggregation program to help residents obtain a lower cost on the electricity bills.  If you are an AEP Electric or Ohio Edison customer you are enrolled or eligible for a rate of 4.69 cents per KwH through October 2023.  We encourage all eligible residents to check their electric bill and confirm the Consumption portion of your bill indicates DYNEGY with a rate of 0.046897.  If you are not enrolled with DYNEGY please follow these steps to take advantage of our rate.  We suggest calling soon as the transition can take up to 2 billing cycles.

Sugar Creek Township Trustees have successfully entered in to a renewal of our Electric Aggregation Program effective Oct. 1, 2023.  A representative from Trebel Energy informed the board our new rate will be .06553/kwh with Archer Energy.  All SC Twp residents with Ohio Edison or AEP service will be enrolled in the new rate with an option to “Opt Out” sometime in September.  Letters from Archer Energy will begin arriving in August.  Under the Energy Choice Ohio program all resident have the option of choosing their own electric supplier.   You can also call the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio toll-free at 800-686-PUCO, or visit the PUCO’s website to compare rates.                             Updated 8/30/2023
